Lumsden Primary has been one of the many schools that have supported Books Abroad for years through generous book donations for our projects overseas. Book Token Donation
We would like to extend a huge thank you to lain Flett, a long-time supporter of Books Abroad, who has very kindly donated a £100 book token to help us purchase books for dispatch overseas. lain, a retired Dundee City Archivist, regularly gives talks to church and social groups and often donates book tokens he receives directly to our charity. Uganda Container
Our container is officially on its way to Uganda! On 17th November our container left Rhynie to begin its journey to Uganda, where 5 vocational colleges and 3 local schools will benefit from the equipment and resources inside. This is a huge milestone, and we couldn’t be more excited about the impact it will have on students’
New Cladding
We are pleased to announce that the outside renovations of the warehouse at Rhynie are complete! Firstly, in early Spring a new insulated roof was installed which will help with condensation and the issue of the old leaky roof damaging the books. The next phase was the outside harling on the walls which was removed and new insulated cladding fitted – in Books
Doors Open Days 2025

Building Improvement
Building renovation began in March with the removal of the old roof and replacement with a new fully insulated one. This was followed by the removal of the old harling on the outside walls and now new insulated steel cladding (in a shade of green!) is being fitted.
